The airport is located only 8 km from downtown Malaga and just off the main coastal highway, which also links to the AP-7 toll way for convenient access to the main cities and golf courses of the Costa del Sol. The coastal highway is identified as all the following within the Malaga municipal area: A-7, N-340 and E-15.
If you are leaving the airport by car, keep in mind that the left lane of N-340 leads to Malaga, Granada, Nerja and the eastern Costa del Sol, whereas the right lane leads to Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona, Gibraltar, Cadiz and all other destinations on the western coast.
