This cultural event will be celebrated from the 9th to the 13th of September in Benalmádena, Costa del Sol. Besides the possibility of purchasing articles there will be as well performances.
The streets of Benalmádena will turn in a meeting point for those who are fond of the Arabian culture, as this locality will welcome for the second consecutive year the zoco Ben-Al-Mádena. This way the calle Real, the Plaza de España and the Jardines del Muro will transform from 19.00 until 01.00 h into an authentic bazaar where visitors and tourists will be able to get familiar with this culture.
The event, which pretends to be the great Fiesta of the summer, counts with numerous artisan products, articles and performances as for instance belly dancing and other traditional presentations. On the other side there will be different spaces dedicated to gastronomy with tea and sweets. As well there will be several activities for children with handicraft workshops where they will be shown to elaborate figures with clay and baskets.
The town hall has as well indicated a close by car park in order to facilitate the access for visitors.
So, there is no excuse for not visiting the emblematic spots of Benalmádena and get carried by away by the magic Arabian world.

From September onwards this Manual will be distributed in different associations for foreigners.
More than 500 foreign residents already have a copy of the guide Living in Benalmádena, an initiative from the town hall of this municipality of the Costa del Sol, with the purpose to facilitate the foreign visitors all information related to get settled down in this coastal town.
According to the councilor for foreign residents, this guide is very successful, as a lot of foreigners come to the town hall to pick it up; the diffusion has as well been possible because of local and English press and radio stations.
From next month on, this guide will be distributed in the different foreign associations in Benalmádena.

The area will have capacity to operate 30 million passengers a year.
The public works of the new terminal of the airport Málaga, that implies a total inversion of more than 1.100 million Euros, will be finished by 2010.
The new terminal has a surface of about 250.000 squaremetres and will be united to the terminal Pablo Ruiz Picasso (T2), forming one single building.
The edifice will dispose of 86 check-in counters and 20 boarding doors that will permit to attend a dozen aircrafts in connection and eight remotely. Moreover, it will permit operating 7.500 pieces of luggage an hour.
Once finished the works and once realized the necessary tests, the whole area of the airport will be able to operate 9.000 passengers the hour, what implies duplicating the actual capacity.
Apart from the new terminal, actually there are Works going for the extension of the landing field, with a second runway.
As well there are construction works to increase the actual transportation system of the Malaga suburban train, contemplating the improvement of access to the airport, both by train and motorway.

Holidays are coming to an end. The tourists pile up with long faces in the airports, terminals, train stations and motorways. The operation exit and return of the august vacations, is principally organized along the motorways to give the travelers security and order. But as well the airports see their installations collapsed.
Moreover, this weekend the low cost company Easy Jet suffered a strike from workers in the handling. The strike was summoned in
Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, Alicante and Tenerife.
In Málaga, for example the strike affected approximately 9000 passengers and although there were no cancellations, there were delays in 64 flights.
The strike organized by the Spanish Workers Commissions (C.C.O.O.) will be repeated the 22nd and 29th of august. This will affect the workers from Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante and Tenerife.
Fireworks :The best places to watch fireworks in Malaga Feria
Friday, August 14th, 2009The night of the 14th of august is inauguration of the Malaga Fair with splendorous fireworks. Here we mention some of the favorite spots of the people of Malaga to get a good look.
Malaga will live tonight firework accompanied with music. This year the show is called “Europe” and you can listen to singers from different countries. The dairy SUR realized a little survey in the Malagean population to find out their favorite spots to watch the show on the sky: Gibralfaro (centre): here you find the characteristic Malagean views; the nocturnal views with fireworks are a worthwhile spectacle. The only problem is that it is one of the most transited places with a massive affluence of the public. El Puerto (centre): Due to its closeness of the spot where the fireworks get started, many people choose this place. The inconvenience is that you have to stand. As well, this year a part of the harbor is under construction.
La Coracha (centre): The views are similar to Gibralfaro and it´s closer to the centre. From this spot you can hear well the music.
Playa de la Malagueta (centre): This is used to be the sport with mayor affluence as there are as well several life concerts (Estopa, Kate Ryan and Despistados). If you don´t mind agglomerations and like to participate in this kind of activities, this is your spot. This place is especially frequented by younger people who like to start the Feria with Music.
Playa de la Misericordia (west): The large beach permits a great number of people watching the fireworks without getting squeezed. You can get a good view of the whole coastline, but of course you are not so close.
A boat: This is one of the less frequent nevertheless most attractive possibilities. If you get a chance to get on a boat tonight, don´t doubt it! You will be one the few privileged who can watch the fireworks from a unique viewpoint.
